| An Atlantic bottlenose dolphin calf swims alongside its mother at SeaWorld San Diego. The dolphin was born at the park's Dolphin Stadium on October 6, 2005 and is doing well. The mother of this latest calf is a 26-year-old dolphin named Sandy. While the staff does not yet know if the baby is male or female, the youngster is estimated to be about 40 pounds and between 3 1/2 and 4-feet long. Dolphin gestation is about 12 months. |
