| Busch Gardens Tampa Bay celebrated the 15th birthday of Karnaudi, an Asian elephant today, April 13, 2005, with a 300-pound cake baked by Chef Michael Craig. Craig, who baked official birthday cakes for former presidents Reagan and Bush, used 80 pounds of flour, 50 pounds of sugar and 40 pounds of eggs to create the gingerbread cake shell, then filled it with bushels of fresh fruit and topped it with sugar cane "candles". The cake is an example of animal enrichment regularly used by the park's zoological team to keep the animals in their care active and engaged. |
