Here are some tips for a safe, fun, environmental Halloween:
  • Put candy wrappers and other papers in the trash. Birds, fish, and insects can die after mistakenly eating plastic and other trash. Litter also makes beaches and roadsides look ugly, and it’s expensive to clean up.

  • While trick-or-treating, make sure you have a buddy system so that no one gets lost or hurt.

  • Check the wrapper before gobbling your candy. If the wrapper’s seal is broken or torn, throw away the candy.

  • Think twice before you make yourself sick from too much sugar! Some nutritionists believe excess sugar can lower your body’s immune system and your resistance to disease.
