Goals of the Busch Gardens Conservation Information Department:

Based on a long-term commitment to education, Busch Gardens strives to increase every student's knowledge and awarness of wildlife and to engender an appreciation of nature and a commitment to its conservation. Specific learning goals for tigers are that ...

  • Students will be able to describe the tiger's adaptations as a solitary predator.
  • Students will be able to discuss how a tiger designates its home range and communicates with other neighboring cats.
  • Students will be able to evaluate the reasons for the tiger's decline in Asia and speculate on this species' future in the wild.
  • Students will be able to name some international organizations that are involved in enhancing the tiger's preservation.

"The only way conservation can work is if it is seen as just part of the fabric of development--part of the fabric of growth of human society." Peter Seligmann
