Kasi & Mtani present: "Conservation Matters" - a project to connect elementary schools with a conservation project supported by the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. The project will raise student and teacher awareness and understanding of conservation through an animal study consisting of a series of science lessons and activities. Conservation Matters will provide the opportunity to use science lessons and animal data as part of Inquiry Mondays, STEM Fair extensions, Design Challenges, and Long Term Investigations.
This year's Conservation Fund supported project is the Mabula Southern Ground Hornbill Conservation Project in South Africa. The Busch Gardens Education & Conservation Department will connect Hillsborough County schools with data and information related to the conservation fund as well as "Tufts" and "Baraka", the southern ground hornbills cared for at Busch Gardens Tampa. |
Teachers will also have the option to purchase an enhanced package that includes additional resources and information.
