Sounds like you're on the right track, Megan!
The swim test includes an underwater swim, a surface dive to retrieve a small object from the bottom of the pool, a surface swim, and push-ups. Also, during the "wet" part of the test, you'll be asked to demonstrate your upper body strength by pulling yourself up and over the glass panels.
If you get the chance to come back to SeaWorld of Florida, we have two programs which might interest you. One is the Dolphin Interaction Program and the other is the Trainer-for-a-Day program. For both, participation is limited and reservation-only, but either would be a terrific opportunity to learn about animal training at SeaWorld. Next year, there's a whole new interactive experience set to open right next to SWF, our new park, Discovery Cove. You can find out about these programs on the SeaWorld website.
You can write to me in care of the Animal Training Department, SeaWorld of Florida, 7007 SeaWorld Drive, Orlando, FL 32821. I look forward to hearing from you, best of luck in the meantime!
