Birds are very well adapted to migrate at just the right time so they can nest and reproduce, but not be harmed by winter weather. However, late spring storms with ice, snow and freezing rain can surprise some of these early migrants and cause great harm. Spring bird migration is happening now and in May. Today we saw over 100 broadwing hawks in 20 minutes migrating north through Virginia. Look for the migrating birds in your area!
