Some folks think that the red wolf is not a distinct species but a hybrid between gray wolves and coyotes. In the wild, under normal conditions (=no people) red wolves may only live 4-5 years but captive animals have lived considerably longer.
Red wolf senses are probably the same as other wolves and dogs.
Their main predator today is people.
