On January 11, 1998, Sea World of California celebrated J.J.'s first anniversary. It has been one year since J.J., the baby gray whale, stranded near Marina Del Rey. Park guests, Sea World employees, the lifeguards that aided in her rescue, and the Coast Guard sang and shared anniversary cake. J.J.'s caregivers and marine life experts explained the plans for her late March or early April reintroduction.
