

SAN DIEGO (Dec. 10, 1997) J.J. the gray whale calf continues to gain an estimated 50 pounds a day. She consumes between 500 and 600 pounds of food each day by scooping up the fish, squid and krill from the bottom of her pool and sifting it through her baleen. Sea World guests can view J.J. feedings throughout the day. Feeding times vary. J.J. will be on display until she is reintroduced to the ocean in spring of '98.
