Activity:
Many elementary schools hold an annual Field Day event, or have the students divided into P.E. color teams all year long.
This year, hold an Aquatic Olympics that incorporates all or some of the following elements (and add more of your own):
1. Divide the students into teams with fish names (i.e., the Angelfish, the Tetras, the Goldfish, the Sharks, etc.).
2. Give each of the games in the Olympics a fish-themed name, such as the Three-finned race or the Aquarium Tug o War.
3. Serve goldfish crackers and tropical punch as a snack.
4. Decorate the playing field with fish posters and signs.
5. Have the students make fish hats/shirts that depict their team fish.
6. Each team can make up fish cheers for their fellow Olympians.
Result:
The students become more physically fit and have fun with fish at the same time. If you plan an event like this, be sure to contact Aquademics Headquarters toll-free at (888) 595-3705 so that we can help arrange publicity. Also, send pictures!
